Producer, Anant Singh announced today that Videovision Entertainment has partnered with the Kwa Mashu Community Advancement Projects (K-CAP Positive Arts) to screen MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM on Thursday, 20 July at 18h00 as part of the Mandela Day celebrations.
“We are delighted to have partnered with K-CAP Positive Arts to host the screening of MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM free of charge to the communities of KwaMashu and the neighbouring areas of Inanda, Ntuzuma and Phoenix,” said Singh. “The film takes us on the journey of Madiba’s inspirational life which will inspire the audience to live their lives according to Madiba’s principles, and live up to the motto of Mandela Day – Take Action. Inspire Change. Make every day a Mandela Day. It is also an opportunity for the community to commemorate the 99th Anniversary of Madiba’s birth.”
K-CAP’s Nothando Mchunu commented, “The screening of MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM enables the KwaMashu and surrounding communities to celebrate Mandela Day by learning from Madiba’s life and to emulate his qualities. We are grateful to Videovision Entertainment for this opportunity.”
Singh also announced that the film will be broadcast on free-to-air station, etv on 20 July at 20h30 and will be followed by a further broadcast on the DSTV channel, eMovies+ on Friday, 21 July at 21h05.
